ABOUT Covenant Well Of Hope Food Pantry
Sometime around 2002 I ( Tammy Wood) became aware that God requires more from us than to be pew warmers in a church. This realization started a quest to find exactly what God would have me do. I spent several years waiting for God to miraculously show me His plan. I finally started to listen to the desires and dreams in my heart and started trying to find how I could serve in those areas. I tried several different ministries. Each time I would only get so far and something would draw me back. Brother Charlie told me he liked my "try". I think he liked the fact that I would risk the embarrassment of failure to see if that is where God wanted me rather than just doing nothing.
In October 2013 Christine Shippey asked me to join her new Bible College that she was beginning that month. After some prayer I joined her classes. Within a year I knew I was to serve those in poverty or homeless. I joined two ladies with the same visions and we began feeding and clothing the homeless in Cleveland. After a few months we realized we needed to do more. We couldn't serve many with what we were doing and they would move so much we had a hard time finding them.
I became frustrated with how slow things were moving along so I began to work diligently to get the paperwork completed to form the ministry. After a few months Covenant Well of Hope was started. Then the Food Pantry began to take shape. The Pantry will open in mid-February 2015. We will be open every Tuesday from 9am to 4pm and on the third Saturday of each month from 9am to 4 pm.
We rely on the generous donations of the community. Volunteers are always welcome.
We hope to open a kitchen where we can feed those in need and shelters for men and women and children.
